Asbestos Abatement
What Is Asbestos?
Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibrous silicate mineral. There are six types, all of which are composed of long and thin fibrous crystals, each fibre being composed of many microscopic "fibrils" that can be released into the atmosphere by abrasion and other processes.
Why Should I be Concerned?
When inhaled, asbestos fibers become trapped in the body and cause diseases such as mesothelioma, lung cancer and asbestosis. Asbestos exposure is the No. 1 cause of work-related deaths in the world. Approximately 90,000 people die from asbestos-related diseases globally each year.
What Can I Do?
307 Environmental not only performs asbestos testing, but if asbestos materials do present themselves, we are also certified in asbestos abatement. Depending on the friability of the asbestos material, we will set up a level one, two, or three containment and then proceed with the asbestos removal. Being sure to follow all state and federal regulations as well as air quality statutes. Asbestos abatement involves the identification, removal, repair and encapsulation of materials or products in a structure to eliminate the threat of exposure to toxic asbestos fibers.
